The Plaza Group offers materials used in the manufacture of master batches and resins including silica and nylon.
Plastics are synthetic materials made from a wide range of organic polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate and nylon, that can be molded into shape while soft and then set into a rigid or slightly elastic form. Plastic applications are seemingly endless including toys, auto parts, heart patches and stents, flexible packaging, food packaging, containers and in the replacement of metal and glass.
Plastics can be converted into finished goods in a number of ways including calendering, extrusion, blow molding, injection molding, rotational molding, compression molding, film blowing and thermoforming. Manufacturers of finished plastics can choose different paths to produce the colors and properties they desire. Complete pre-colored polymer can be used where no mixing or blending is required. Alternatively, and usually more cost effective, is the use of masterbatches where pigments and/or other additives are already optimally dispersed in a carrier material that is compatible with the base polymer to be used. Manufacturers can also choose to add pigment and additives directly although getting proper dispersion and avoiding waste are typical challenges.
Cromex is a leading Brazilian company in the color concentrates and plastic additives business. Their products are heavy metals free. The company has been in business for more than 40 years, exporting its products to more than 60 countries in North America, Latin America, Western Europe and others.
In June 2017, The Plaza Group initiated relations with Cromex with sales outside the US into select regions. In July 2017, we became a distributor for Cromex products in the United States. Offerings include black, white, color and microcolor masterbatch as well as additives delivering qualities of antistat, antiblock, antifog, slip agent, optical brightener, flame retardant, UV protector and desiccant.
Consistent high quality reprocessed/recycled polymers offer an opportunity to lower cost while demonstrating to the consumer your “green” efforts and environmentally friendly perspective.
