President Randy Verlarde of The Plaza Group, a leading international chemical marketing firm, has been awarded USHCC HBE Elite Supplier by BP.
Each year, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) hosts a national convention recognizing businessmen and women of Hispanic businesses and the impact they have on our nation’s economy.
This year, Debra Jennings-Johnson, Senior Director of Supplier Diversity of BP America, Inc. nominated Verlarde for his work at The Plaza Group.
“I am honored to be awarded as USHCC HBE Elite Supplier,” said Verlarde. “The Plaza Group strives to support economic growth through small businesses while keeping our customers’ problems and challenges at the core of our work.”
Prior to forming The Plaza Group in 1994, Verlarde spent 15 years in management and market development at Shell Chemical and Texaco Chemical. In the past, Randy has been named Entrepreneur of the Year by both Hispanic Business magazine and the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Verlarde graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
