The Plaza Group Renews Exclusive Benzene Marketing Agreement with Frontier Oil

The Plaza Group has signed a multi-year agreement valued at over $30 million with TOTAL PETROCHEMICALS USA, INC. to market styrene monomer produced at TOTAL’s Cosmar, Louisiana facility.

As it enters its second decade of operation, multi-million-dollar petrochemical marketer The Plaza Group (TPG) bolsters its strategic core by adding four chemical industry leaders to its board of advisors. TPG President Randy Velarde announced the additions at this year’s customer and supplier conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The Plaza Group (TPG) recently renewed its agreement with Frontier Oil and Refining Company (Frontier) to serve as the exclusive marketer of benzene produced at Frontier El Dorado Refining Company’s facility in El Dorado, Kansas. The contract is valued at $40 million per year.
The multi-million dollar contract, a culmination of two years of work with Quidesa management, will allow TPG to import and market products including natural sodium sulfonates, white mineral oils and petrolatum in the United States.
A taste of Texas was brought in to Anacortes September 16th to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of The Plaza Group. President Randy Velarde and Business Director Mark DeGuerre from The Plaza Group joined Tom Smith of Shell Oil Products and about 35 employees who enjoyed a Texas-style barbeque lunch to mark the event, ‘topped off’ with 10th anniversary hats given by The Plaza Group to all employees.
