The Plaza Group, a leading international petrochemical marketing firm has announced the hiring of Paco Rangel as Commercial Director for benzene and styrene. Rangel will report to Executive Vice President Jose Flores, will be responsible for all activities related to benzene and styrene, and will support the team on supply management for all products.

Prior to joining The Plaza Group, Rangel led the global aromatics practice at Argus Media Inc., consulting global clients in the areas of price forecasting, supply and demand trends, cost modeling and contract negotiation specifically for benzene, pygas, toluene, xylenes, orthoxylene, paraxylene and styrene.
Rangel began his professional career in 1998 as a process consultant for Accenture where he worked on business process improvement projects for ExxonMobil Chemical at various locations in the US Gulf coast. In 2001, he joined the market consultancy DeWitt & Company working as a petrochemical analyst and aromatics consultant. In 2011, he joined the energy consultancy Opportune working as a trading and risk management consultant in the areas of chemicals, midstream and natural gas liquids. In 2014, Rangel returned to his role as an aromatics market consultant after Argus Media Inc. acquired DeWitt & Company.
Rangel is a native of Mexico City. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Tulane University.
